Short description

 

In New Home 2 genres of computer games are merged under a veil of Science - Fiction. On the one hand are elements of Real-Time strategy games (RTS games) and on the other hand elements of survival games.

The main goal of survival games are adapting to ones surrounding and take care of the characters basic needs. Mostly there are no possibilities for the player to request external assistance. However in Real-Time strategy games the player has the chance to choose between a large amount of units and buildings by gathering resources. The road to success is distinguished by ensuring a fluent supply of resources and the right order in building units and structures.

On one side the concept of New Home attends upon the element of slender resources without any chance of external support (survival game element). On the other side this concept will use the element of having a small pool of units and buildings with which the player has the chance to reach his goal by tactical maneuvering (RTS element) .

New Home entirely seen, is actually split in 4 phases, that not only tells a story about a journey into unknown regions, but is more about an active experience, involving the player right from the very beginning.
